18 Leadership Quotes From Mark Burnett And Roma Downey On The Movie Son Of God

I have captured the leadership quotes and principles from dozens of movies but feel completely inadequate to discuss Son of God.  Mark Burnett and Roma Downey have created a masterpiece which should be seen by all.
Each time I see a cruxcifiction scene I cannot escape the fact that because of my sin I am the one administering the beatings, the floggings, the insults and driving the nails into His hands.  The love and compassion of Jesus is something I will never fully understand until I get to Heaven.
Anything Jesus does or says deserves more commentary than I could ever communicate with excellence.  Each of His sayings from the movie should be recorded (they are in the Bible) and how do you prioritize one thing Jesus said over another?
In preparation to seeing Son of God later today, I chose instead to highlight the words of the movie’s producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey from the interview above.
The following are 18 Leadership Quotes From Mark Burnett And Roma Downey On The Movie Son Of God:
  1. “It was such a privilege for me to play Monica on Touched By An Angel to be able to deliver a message of God’s love every week to 20 million people.  I have loved Jesus my whole life and delivering that special message was extraordinary.” – Roma
  2. “God is so amazing because I always knew He brought me into your life because you needed a mom.  I just hadn’t realized He brought you into my life because I would need a baby girl.  Will you be my baby?” – Della Reese to Roma
  3. “The big audience is a family friendly, faithful audience.  You don’t need to make shows about sex and drugs and violence to get ratings.” – Mark

  8. “People are just stunned with love (after seeing the movie).” – Mark
  9. “It’s epic and sweeping.  It’s a big film, big cast, big music, big costumes, dramatic landscapes…On the other hand, it’s powerfully intimate because it’s about the life of Jesus.” – Roma

  11. “20th Century Fox put it in 3,000 theaters.” – Mark

  13. “We love Jesus is back on the big screen and in popular culture.” – Roma
  14. “It makes it so current and available for young people who need to see the story.  Young kids learn more from seeing than reading and the fresh imagery will turn them back to scripture and back to church.” – Roma

  16. “In all the years I have thought about the cross I never considered what Mary must have been feeling.” – Roma

The movie is a classic and I have immediately placed it in the #2 spot on The Top 20 Leadership Movies Of The Last 20 Years.  What were your thoughts of movie?
