Last week I was on the phone with a pastor when
he said, “I enjoy your blog. I especially enjoy your Top 10 list at
the end of each of week. It helps me cut through the clutter.” His
statement gave me tremendous insight into what leaders need. The
following is just some of the list:
- Leaders need a great team around them.
- Leaders need someone to remove clutter.
- Leaders need people on their team who ask good questions.
- Leaders need people who provide solutions.
- Leaders need people to challenge their assumptions.
- Leaders need friends they can “be real” with.
- Leaders need time to prepare.
- Leaders need a quality framework in which to make good decisions.
- Leaders need people to stretch their vision.
- Leaders need people who have their back.
- Leaders need people who get things done.
- Leaders need to be calm in challenging times.
- Leaders need purpose. A higher calling.
- Leaders need to know they are making a difference.
- Leaders need others who push them to get better.
- Leaders need influence, not titles.
- Leaders need to know what the Return On Investment is.
- Leaders need to embrace change.
- Leaders need something to do next. They need a challenge.
- Leaders need Jesus Christ in their lives.
