The One Thing You Must Be To Attract Talented Young Leaders

Every organization I know wants to attract the best leaders.  Let’s be honest, no one wakes up and says, “I want to recruit some bad leaders today.  Give me all the bad leaders.”  Specifically, every organization wants to attract talented young leaders.  Young leaders keep your organization fresh, energetic, green and growing.
The question is not if you want to attract great leaders, but how?  Is it compensation?  Perks?  Stock options and retirement packages?  The chance to be part of a great team?  Facilities?  Marketplace recognition?  Location?
All of these are attractive qualities but on this morning’s ESPN College Gameday quarterback Lamar Jackson gave us the reason he elected to play for the Louisville Cardinals.  Referring to head coach Bobby Petrino, the early Heisman Trophy leader said, “I was told that Coach P was a quarterback guru.  He was able to make quarterbacks into great quarterbacks.”
To attract talented young leaders you must first be a great leader yourself.  Young leaders are curious and want to learn from those who those who have previously experienced success.  They want an opportunity to grow and reach their full potential.  And they want to work for someone who they know can help them achieve their dreams.  This is how you attract talented young leaders.
Are you this type of leader?
As a bonus to you, the following are 8 additional leadership quotes and lessons from Nick Saban, Hugh Freeze And Others from today’s college football pre-game shows:
